ROLE PLAY

DEFINITION: The deliberate acting out of a role (possibly a role that one would not normally occupy), as part of group therapy or of a learning session directed towards understanding that role or the situations with which this occupants have to cope.

SITUATION 1:

STUDENT A: You meet a stranger in a train, s/he keeps talking about his/her problems with his/her wife/ husband. You’ve got a headache and want to sleep but you don’t want to be rude, so you try to listen to him/her but you can’t stand him/her anymore!
You must use the following words:  book, seat, food, photograph.
STUDENT B: You meet a stranger in a train, you are having problems with your wife/husband. You don’t have many friends to talk about it, s/he seems a very sympathetic person and you decide to tell him/ her about it. S/he wants to sleep but you don’t mind!
You must use the following words: newspaper, computer, school, bed.
